Ki Matsuba 28cm Nisai, Marusei

A Ki Matsuba is a vibrant variety of Japanese koi known for its bright yellow body and a distinctive black "pinecone" pattern across its scales. The "Matsuba" Pattern: The name translates to "pine needle" or "pinecone" in Japanese. This refers to the reticulation—black spots or indigo-tinted centers in the middle of each yellow scale—that creates a net-like appearance across the fish's back and sides.

This Ki Matsuba was hand selected in January 2026 and has been quarantined in Berkshire since February,
