Doitsu Chagoi 30cm Nisai, Marusei

A Doitsu Chagoi is a "leather carp" (scaleless or near-scaleless) variant of the tea-colored, olive-green, or brown Chagoi koi. Known as the "friendly giant" of the pond, they are prized for their calm, intelligent demeanor, rapid growth to massive sizes, and often hand-feed. They are frequently used to encourage timid koi to eat.

• Scalation: The term "Doitsu" refers to its German carp ancestry, meaning it has either no scales at all or only a single row of large, mirrored scales along its dorsal (top) line.

This Doitsu Chagoi was hand selected in January 2026 and has been quarantined in Berkshire since February,
